Jane walked to the lake the water was very dark and Jane couldn't help but stare wondering what lied beneath it's dark surface. Sighing she walked to a tree that served as a perfect place to see the lake. It wasn't too far from the Castle either it truly was the perfect spot. She smiled a bit before pulling out a Potions book she had to read for her lesson. Potions was never one of her best subjects it was a claimed Slytherin subject and appearantly Gryffindors weren't that good at it.

Rowena smiled as she saw the child pull out a heavily stained Potions textbook. Potions was a nasty subject, easy to mess up, easy to have everything that could possibly go wrong go wrong. Even though it was a tricky mess, she brought it upon herself to teach it. Potions was a joy to teach, because things could go from so simple to so complicated in one easy direction, and depending on the ability of the student, she could have them making new potions, potions that would relay the boundaries of history forever...
She walked quickly and sat down next to the girl, hoping not to frighten her. It was important, she and Helga and Salazar with Godric lazily listening had discussed, to connect twith the students as much as possible, and it was easy to do when one was sitting with a Potions book looking fretful.
"May I be of some help?"

"Yes professor I'm having a little trouble understanding the concept of the shrinking potion how come you go back age as well as size?" Jane asked her potions professor. The teacher was Ravenclaw's head Rowena Ravenclaw probably the most brilliant witch of time. She felt slightly insignificant mentally compared to the Ravenclaw founder. Jane always wondered why the founders of the school tried to become closer to their students true it made them more comfortable at the school as well as the lessons but it sometimes seemed odd. At her muggle schools the teachers never became close to their students it was different here.
That was probably why Jane felt so out of place here. She was a muggle born witch appearantly muggle borns had never even existed until now they were the children of two muggles who somehow got lucky and had magic some how. Everyone here seemed to know magic while Jane and the other muggle borns had to learn while they went along.

Rowena knew that Jane was a Muggleborn, but it changed absolutely nothing in her mind. However, in Salazar's mind, it seemed to change something ever so much, as if Muggles shouldn't be let in on secrets. The other three had not a problem with this concept, and figured if they had the ability they should be taught how to use if before it got out of control. Salazar, on the other hand, firmly believe only purebloods-- not even halfblood, for goodness' sake-- should be taught. Rowena had reminded him many a time that if that were to be held up that the school would have almost no students. very few, very few...
"Well, since 'shrinking' can be defined many ways, age as well as size, and well as , say an emotion or thought, it doesn't matter; it is the process of getting smaller. Let me tell you a little secret. I find in my potion work that if I'm concentrating hard on the outcome of my potion as well as the specific directions, it's much more clear in the end. I don't know why it helps exactly; I'm guessing it has soething to do with putting your intentions out there for the world to be let known of."

Jane nodded now understanding the potion and maybe helping her figure out a way to help her in that subject. "I understand now thank you professor" Jane said satisfied that she now understand a bit more about potions. Jane was pleased that only one of her teacher's disliked her for her heritage, she heard some Slytherins call her mudblood it made her a bit upset and she frowned at the thought of the word. Weren't they all witches and wizards did it really matter that much if she was the offspring of two muggles? "Did you really see squid in the lake professor?" Jane asked completly changing subjects it was rumored the Rowena Ravenclaw saw a squid like beast in the lake though she didn't really believe it and what better way than to ask the woman whom the rumor circled.

BTW i made you sig and icon,it's under help! Rowena watched the child as she frowned, obviously thinking about soething that was distressing to her. Of course, that could by many, many things. It was completely sublime to Rowena how humans were all the same species, with all the same insides and all the same outsides, (just varied a little bit) yet everything was different. Every person had their own problems, every person had their own dilemas. How strange was this fact to ponder...
"Did you really see squid in the lake professor?"
Roswena smiled. IT was a thrillin story.
"As a matter of fact, despite the rumors you'v been hearing going around, I have. It was very strange, I got the sense that it was indeed a baby, but it was positively gigantic. The tentacle had the largest bright blueish pruple color I'[ve ever seen, it was quite a sight to behold!"

(Thank you I saw them and I love them)
Jane listened intently to the story it really was an incredible tale though it made Jane a bit self conscious about the lake now. Good thing I don't swim that muchShe thought unsure if the baby could harm her. "That really is an incredible story professor it almost sounds like the legends muggles have like the Lockness Monster or the Giant Squid though no muggles think they exist" that thought brought a smile to exist for before she was eleven she was told there was not such thing as witches, wizards or magic in general and look where she is now.

"Muggles are very in the dark..." she said simply. There really was no other way to put it. They were ignorant, and in bliss, because she knew that if they knew that a world coexisted beside them in peace, without the knowledge, someone was bound to argue, and that one Muggle would blow things up in a major out of proportioned way and things might be ruined.
"Tell me, Jane, is there something else bothering you?"
