tell me about yourself-- Aíne was born in the village of Kildare from which she takes her family name (since she needed one for school). Her parents were both half-blood witch and wizard. She was the oldest of six sisters and one brother. She began demonstrating magical capability at the age of five when her mother found her churning butter by magic. She had much responsiblity around the house as, other than being magical, her parents were poor farmers with eight mouths to feed. Since she was the oldest, she was often the one left to take care of her siblings. At the age of nine, her brother Aenghus, who was eight, dropped a snake (of his own creation since Ireland is famous for having no snakes) on her head, scaring her almost to death giving her her case of snake phobia today.
and your arrival-- Aíne and her mother had travelled to the Eastern Coast of Ireland to a small trading port in order to participate in the market there. It was there that they encountered an English witch named Rowena Ravenclaw who saw Aíne's budding abilities and suggested to her mother that Aíne might benefit coming to a newly-opened school for young witches and wizards. Her mother agreed, and now, five years later, Aíne is a fifth year at Hogwarts with her younger siblings trailing behind her.

Aíne is small and pale, many often tell her that she resembles some kind of spirit with her pale hair, skin, and eyes. She looks smaller and younger than she actually is, and her physical appearance has given her the nickname of Bean Sídhe by the people of her hometown. The uniform of Hogwarts seems to swallow her up and engulf her. She speaks with a heavy Irish accent (which makes her fellow students none too fond of her)

Aíne is quiet and doesn't attract attention. She's not fond of magic, even though she loves some of her classes. She's bright and studious and one of the brightest in her year. She's a bit of a klutz which mostly manifests itself during potions class when she'll accidentally spill some ingredient on herself, her teacher, or her classmates. She won't reach out to others and doesn't form attachments well. She's very defensive about her heritage given the general dislike the English have for the Irish, and is proud to be of Irish descent. She's fluent in Irish Gaelic, though isn't as proficient in English (she does well enough to pass, but it can be brutally obvious how uncomfortable with English she is) She's gentle and kind towards animals, though she's known to go after other students if they make her mad.
