thanks, my loverlies =) *air kisses, and many of them*
EDIT: okay, really my guests, this thread was for constructive criticism, not shots at us so you can get your jollies. Try and have something helpful to say?

Although I used to love roleplaying HP ... BUT .... I recently developed an interest in detective rp's and Asian style ones so I did not join for that. I also clicked this link by mistake, but this is another thing.
Also, just because stupid me didn't join , it doesn't mean that it is a bad site >.>
I think you did a VERY GOOD JOB

I didn't join because you seem really over the top about people joining. Like you're pressuring everyone to click this link?
And the advertising board was kind of... pushy with the way you said that 'if you post on our board twice, we will post on yours twice'. It just...seems way too mean.
I don't really like being treated that way.

Here's what I think: lay off the whole 'joinjoinjoin' thing. Trust me, people don't join if they think an admin's too pushy. Seriously, take it off. Fine if you want to have a thread asking guests for their opinion, but don't push it too far.
The site is quite nice, the skin is good, the graphics are good. The members aren't as good at roleplaying as some sites, but they don't have to be. However, that can be a turn off for those of us who average 500-600 words a post.
The people who are being mean, well, ignore them. To LOSERFAN2: if you can write 5000 words in a post, great. That also means that you have far too much free time and no life.
That's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

I only dropped by to advetise, really, but seeming as your so desperate for our critism, here it is-
The graffics are great but the site, in my oppinion, is too Dark. The text is very hard to read against the dark background. It feels very claustrophibic and enclosed. And the plot, altough I havn't read it, I know it is about harry Potter, and that is a flaw, right there. Harry potter roleplay sites are popping up everywhere recently as t the release of the latest movie, but its just getting far to . . . repetitive and boring , unless you can think of a great plot.
That's my crit! Hope it helped and I wasnt tooooo harsh!

I love the site. I think it's fabulous. Wish mine was as good.
I haven't joined because it's hard for me to find time to run my owns site, let alone rp on someone elses. I really do like the site though so I may make the time to join. I really enjoy finding well thought out and put together sites. It gives me ideas and impresses me to see people taking the time to do something they are passionate about.
GREAT JOB!
Oh and as for the harsh people on here, ignore them. They have no respect.

I personally didn't join because I'm on plenty of sites already and I don't want to drop activity in any of them, and also that this didn't really catch my attention. - But that's just me; I'm a picky person, haha.
I think that the storyline with the four founders is good, but maybe some sort of twist? I'm not sure; I can't think of any- thing really good with the founders.
Erm. I agree with beckers on the whole "joinjoinjoin" thing, and aimeeeee about the skin. That was one thing that kinda threw me off that the text was hard to read.
The graphics are fine. And um. Yeah, the post thing, I usually average three hundred to six hundred, and just looking at the posts on the board, I wouldn't be too keen on roleplaying here. But if you're not a beginner board, so long as the minimum is a detailed paragraph or two, you should be fine.
Um. Yeah. Hope that helped and didn't sound too mean.

Hiya! Just popping in with two-cents-worth of opinion. Personally, the skin is great, but a little more contrast with the text and the background would be brilliant :). I'm a great fan of keeping the whole site with the same tones as the banner, so the beautiful images, being cool and warm colours, threw me a bit at first.
Really though, I think people aren't joining because they already have sites (I know I do! Too many XD). Personally, I was never a great fan of Harry Potter -pleasedon'tkillme!- so I'm unlikely to join a HP role-play. It's just how I feel about the whole deal. It would also be a great idea to add your own twists to the plot that make it pop out at people, as I find historical RPs tend to need something that sets them apart, as the readers already know the history and what's supposed to happen. It's hard to separate what you as a reader know is supposed to happen from what the role-play decides, because you already know the outcome.
And I do very much agree with Chrys: just because we don't join doesn't mean this isn't a wonderful site. The banner is beautiful, as is the advertising picture (I especially love the cool tones on the side-bar), and the box/category headers are simple, neat and legible. I'm a great fan of the straight-out rules, so yours are great in that department ;). Honestly, I think it's just time that DIBTB needs :). Though not active, our little site had five active members for a while, and my friend and I were pretty stoked with that. As long as you're getting guests on your site (especially ones who are willing to answer the call of threads like this) I think you'll get where you want to be.

Well, mainly I'm just advertising. I think Founders is a wonderful era that not enough people RP. So kudos!
However, the skin is nice, except I do love colors so that's a bit of a turn off for me. Also, like other people said it's not really advanced enough for me. I'd get frustrated too easily. I have a minimum of 500 and encourage members to get up to 1000 you know?

The skin. If it matched the banner, it would be better. Most people don't want to join a site with a less-than-super-stunning skin.
